To gunrantee the safety of machines and buildings under the fire risk, flame retardant rating for nylon cable glands must be required. For nylon cable glands or plastic products, three ratings are usually used: UL94-V0, UL94-V1 & UL94-V2. Compared with UL94-V1 & UL94-V2, UL94-V0 is commonly required. According to the requirements of the vertical burning test of UL laboratory for flame retardant rating is as followings:
UL 94 V-0 Vertical Burn; Burning stops within 10 seconds, No flaming drips are allowed.
UL 94 V-1 Vertical Burn; Burning stops within 60 seconds, No flaming drips are allowed.
UL 94 V-2 Vertical Burn; Burning stops within 60 seconds, Flaming drips ARE allowed.
UL 94 H-B Horizontal Burn; Slow horizontal burn test (H-B) are considered "self-extinguishing". The lowest (least flame retardant) UL94 rating.
